About Me
Dr Kautsar Ramli, FHEA is a ‘pracademic’, an academic with an entrepreneurial background. Kautsar’s research interests are mainly within the fields of business management and entrepreneurship, and their implications to policy and practice. She works a lot with world-renowned scholars in examining enterprise policy and culture, business resilience during a crisis, and the social aspects of entrepreneurship.
Kautsar is currently a Lecturer in Entrepreneurship & Innovation at Newcastle University. She graduated from The University of Leeds and was awarded the Dean’s Prize for her achievement in PhD in 2020. Kautsar previously worked as a postdoctoral research associate at The University of Bristol for a UK Research and Innovation-funded research, The BAM project, a transdisciplinary collaborative research project that brings together world-leading researchers from Engineering and Business, 300+ industry leaders, and industry/government initiatives in the United Kingdom. She has also worked at The University at Edinburgh for The ERICC project, researching the impact of COVID-19 on British high-growth firms.
Kautsar has been invited as a speaker in various international conferences and forums, targetted for both academics and practitioners. She also teaches Entrepreneurship modules and is interested in working in other multidisciplinary areas surrounding practical impact of entrepreneurship including Psychology and Engineering.
Kautsar is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). She also holds a position as an Adjunct Lecturer at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI).
Kautsar has been endorsed as an Exceptional Promise by The British Academy for her academic performance in 2021, and is a current expert reviewer for the UKRI Talent Peer Review College in 2023.
